The Posture of Peace”

There’s a version of peace we’ve all imagined at some point.

A life where everything is calm.
No stress. No uncertainty. No pressure.
Just ease… and quiet.

But if you’ve lived long enough, you’ve probably realized—that version of peace is almost impossible to maintain.

Because life doesn’t stop being life.

There will always be something:

  • something to figure out

  • something to pray about

  • something that doesn’t go as planned

So if peace is dependent on everything around you being perfect, then peace will always feel out of reach.

But maybe that’s not what peace is.

So what is peace, really?

Peace is not the absence of:

  • fear

  • doubt

  • stress

  • questions

Peace is the ability to remain anchored in the middle of them.

It’s an internal steadiness.

A quiet confidence that says:
“Even if things are uncertain, I am not shaken.”

The difference between the world’s peace and God’s peace

The world teaches:
“Fix everything, then you’ll feel peace.”

But Jesus says something different:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” — Bible (John 14:27)

That means there are two kinds of peace:

  • one that depends on circumstances

  • and one that exists despite them

God’s peace doesn’t wait for everything to make sense.

Peace that doesn’t always make sense

There’s a kind of peace that logic cannot explain.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds…” — Bible (Philippians 4:7)

You can still have:

  • unanswered questions

  • unclear outcomes

  • moments of pressure

…and yet, something within you is still steady.

Not because everything is figured out.
But because you are anchored in something deeper.

Peace is being anchored

Peace looks like:

  • not panicking at every unknown

  • not letting fear make your decisions

  • not being easily shaken by every change

It’s not that your mind never wanders.

It’s that you know where to bring it back to.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You…” — Bible (Isaiah 26:3)

Peace is not found in controlling everything.

It’s found in knowing who you’re anchored to.

So what does this mean for you?

It means you don’t have to wait for:

  • your life to be perfect

  • your plans to be clear

  • your emotions to be stable

before you allow yourself to feel peace.

You can have peace now.

In the middle of the uncertainty.
In the middle of the process.
In the middle of becoming.

Because peace isn’t a destination.

It’s a posture.
